Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says a tip received during a traffic stop led to the arrest of four people in a motel room that was full of drugs. The incident began early Wednesday morning following a traffic stop of 37-year-old Ian Meredith of South College Street in Salem near the Poplar and Calumet Street intersection. Meredith was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance and other traffic charges.
Dodson says Meredith also tipped them that 49-year-old Sean Meredith, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, was at the Centralia Motel.
Police went to the room where Sean Meredith allegedly answered the door, but tried to shut it when seeing police outside. Eventually, police were able to push it open and found three other people and a large amount of drugs in plain view inside.
Sean Meredith, along with 25-year-old Amber Tolliver of South Franklin in Salem, 30-year-old Lonnie Williamson, Junior of the 800 block of North
Poplar in Centralia, and 39-year-old Aida Almodovar of the 300 block of Pullen in Centralia were all arrested for two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to deliver, along with manufacture or delivery of a look-a-like substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dodson says they allegedly found 130 grams of meth, 82 grams of fentanyl, along with 235 capsules believed to contain fentanyl, loaded hypodermic syringes, digital scales and packaging in the room. All five were taken to the Marion County Jail pending a decision on formal charges.
