State Police say four persons received non-life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in the southbound lanes of I-57 south of the Farina exit in extreme northern Marion County.
Preliminary investigative details indicate an SUV driven by 40-year-old Lakeisha Whitaker of Maywood swerved to avoid a large piece of tire debris in the roadway. She struck the left ditch and came to rest in the center median.
Whitaker and 14-year, 8-year, and three-month-old female juvenile passengers were all transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash occurred at 7:28 Saturday morning.
