The Salem Planning Commission has given their approval to a zoning change that will allow the former Reaching for the Stars Daycare building at 622 North Marion to be converted into three apartments.
Tina Sager of RTKS Properties, LLC made the request.
The building is currently vacant.
The commission received one written objection from a neighbor who feared more traffic and noise.
The recommendation now goes to the Salem City Council for approval at its Monday meeting.
