Salem Township Hospital has named emergency room LPN Ayla Eichenseer as its “Employee of the Year”.
The annual award is presented by the Salem Township Hospital Foundation through a gift provided by Dr. and Mrs. S. Lakshmanan.
It includes $1,000 cash.
Foundation President Myron Lloyd read from the nomination letter submitted for Eichenseer.
“Her co-workers said she’s excellent, dependable, always helpful, eager to learn, always goes above and beyond regardless of staying late or getting it done within her work period. She is polite and smiles no matter the situation. She’s amazing and compassionate with patients and juggles family, school, and work.”
Lloyd says Eichenseer was unable to attend the ceremony because she was taking a test as she works towards an advanced nursing degree.
Other finalists were CNA Steve Berger, Human Resources Director Diane Boswell, Health Information Management-Director Eydee Bumgarner, Nutritional Services Department services employee Kristina Butts, Registered Nurse Mel Fitch, Medical Technologist Vicky Hargis, Lab Assistant Lindsay Harper, LPN Shelly Johnson, Randy Leuty of the Materials Management Department, Housekeeping Supervisor Doris Lux and RN Chelsey Swartzlander.
The award has been presented as part of Nursing Week since 2008, but had to be canceled last year due to COVID.
