Salem Police say one person was injured in a two vehicle crash at North Broadway and Boone Street on Monday afternoon.
Police report a car driven by 19-year-old Maci Hocking of North Broadway in Salem was traveling northbound on Broadway when she attempted to make a left hand turn in front of a car driven by 61-year-old Sharon Keller of Mattoon. The two vehicles collided nearly head on.
Keller was taken to Salem Township Hospital for apparent minor injuries. Hocking refused hospital treatment.
Hocking was ticketed for failure to yield when turning left, driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle.
The Salem Fire Protection District was called to the scene, but there turned out not to be any entrapment.
The crash occurred at 3:03 Monday afternoon.
