2022 05/11 – Ruth A. Guetersloh

Ruth A. Guetersloh, 89, of Peoria, formerly of Chillicothe, died at 11:45 p.m. May 1, 2022, at Buehler Home in Peoria.

She was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Centralia, Ill. to Maxine (Seely) and Harry E. Buehler.

She graduated in 1950 from Centralia Township High School. She received her licensed practical nursing certificate from the Practical Nursing School at Rend Lake College, Mt. Vernon, Ill. in 1967. She married Lawrence J. “Junior” Lane on June 7, 1952. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 1959. She married Vernon E. Guetersloh on June 8, 1974. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2015.

She is survived by one brother, P.J. Buehler of Roslindale, Mass.; six children, L. Kevin (Amy) Lane of Wilmington, Del.; Kirby (John) Feldmann of Racine, Wis.; R. Jeremy (Marsha) Guetersloh of Seattle, Wash.; Randy Guetersloh of East Peoria; Stanley Guetersloh of Chillicothe and Marlo Guetersloh of Normal; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard E. Buehler and John Buehler.

She worked as an LPN for many years at the office of Dr. Edward Stephens III in Centralia. She started working as an LPN at Buehler Home in Peoria in 1979 and retired in 1997. In retirement, she worked part-time and later volunteered at the Illinois Eye Center in Peoria.

Private family graveside services will be held at Parkview Cemetery, 2001 N. University St., Peoria, with Rev. Stephen Barch from the First Federated Church, Peoria, presiding, and at Hillcrest Cemetery, 2500 Old 51 Highway, Centralia, with the Rev. Paula Comper from First Christian Church, Centralia, presiding.

Cremation rites were accorded by The Wilton Mortuary, Peoria.

Her family would like to thank the doctor, nurses, employees, and all of her friends at Buehler Home for their compassionate care and love. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials can be made to Buehler Home, 3415 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria, Ill. 61604.
