Emergency responders circle SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia twice Thursday night in a parade to thank the nurses for their work during COVID-19.

St. Mary’s nurse Jill Belcher helped organize the event.

“We decided to put together a nurse appreciation parade in honor of nurses’ week today. The nurses had a really rough 12 months over dealing with COVID and we definitely thought this would be something they would deserve and appreciate thank everybody that came out to support the nurses and continue to
do so.”

Belcher says as she has worked beside most of the St. Mary’s nurses over the years, each and every one of them deserve recognition for going above and beyond each and every day that they come to work.

Police, fire, and ambulance vehicles all with sirens blaring joined the Nurses Day Parade.
