Linda Wimberly, 67 of Salem, Illinois passed away on April 30, 2022, at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO with her family by her side.

Born January 22, 1955, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the daughter of Carl and Edith (Kalbfleisch) Collier.

Linda had retired from Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL with 35 years of service as a respiratory therapist. She always loved dogs. Her greatest love was spending time with her granddaughter, Marissa. She was of the Lutheran faith.

She married Bill Wooters and they later divorced. She then married Ron Wimberly. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2014. She lost her best friend and companion Ken Thomas, on February 7, 2021.

Surviving are her son Tommy Wooters and wife Amanda of Salem, granddaughter Marissa Wooters of Salem, her brother, Leroy Collier and wife Maria of Westfield, IN and her former husband, Bill Wooters of Salem. Also surviving is her former brother-in-law, Randy Robbins of Salem.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a dear aunt, Lilo Herzog of Germany.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97 310 N. Broadway, Salem, IL 62881 (618) 548-1234, entrusted with the family’s care. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 am until the service hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
