A 71-year-old Centralia man had fingers on his right hand cut by the blade of a riding lawn mower that he was trying to repair.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Daniel Myers of the 1300 block of North Beech was working on the mower with the blade running when the blade hit his fingers.    He was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia by Lifestar Ambulance for treatment.

Initial reports had indicated that the injuries to Myers arms were much more severe than they turned out.    There were reports the incident had left Myers unconscious, but he was alert by the time a deputy arrived on the scene.

The incident occurred around six Saturday night.
