Mr. McQuade was born on May 25, 1947, to the late Jack and Hilda (Hilgemann) McQuade. He married Karen Schneider on December 19, 1970.
Paul loved his country and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Beckemeyer American Legion Post 1227, Clinton County Vietnam Veterans Chapter 269, and the Carlyle V.F.W. Post 3523. Paul (Prairie Dawg) was a truck driver and had millions of miles on the road. He enjoyed working on the family farm, tractor pulls, and Allis Chalmers tractors. Paul loved traveling the country on his Harley Davidson and telling stories about his adventures on the road.
Paul is survived by his wife, Karen McQuade; his three children, Stephanie McQuade, Jason McQuade and wife Machell, and William Jackson McQuade and special friend Natalie; his grandchildren, John Timmermann and wife Brooke, Clay Timmermann and special friend Tierney, Chance McQuade, and Isabella McQuade; his step-granddaughter, Cassandra; his great-grandchildren, Elaina and Haven Timmermann, and a third great-grandchild soon to be born; his step-great-grandchildren, Aldon and Cheznee; his siblings, Julian McQuade, Edward McQuade and wife Margie, JoAnn Varel and husband Bill, and a sister-in-law, Susie McQuade. Mr. McQuade is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, good buddies, and his beloved basset hound, Shorty.
Mr. McQuade was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Andrew McQuade; and his siblings, Leonard McQuade, and Ray McQuade and his wife Linda, and Eileen McQuade.
A Funeral Service will be held at Zieren Funeral Home (1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231) on Monday, May 2, 2022, with Fr. George Mauck, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Felicitas Cemetery in Beaver Prairie. Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 4:00 P.M – 6:00 P.M. and on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. The Vietnam Veterans will walk through at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday evening.
