Carolyn Gaye (Hawthorne) Cassel passed away on March 1, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada surrounded by her family. She was born on December 12, 1953, in Centralia, Illinois. She was the daughter of Robert and Doris (Phillips) Hawthorne. Her parents preceded her in death.
Carolyn is survived by her sisters: Susan (Hawthorne) Cerrone; and Joycelyn (Hawthorne) Clements; both of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brothers: Forrest Hawthorne, Moncks Corner, South Carolina; and Robert Lee Hawthorne, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Also surviving are four children: Pashar Murray; Garrick Hawthorne, Keva Nearing, and Taylor Hawthorne of Las Vegas, Nevada,
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren: Ricardo Jr.; Kevin; Catalina; Alana; Evan; Hailey; Ethan; Esmeralda; Lincoln; Ivy; Abel and Aaron.
Carolyn was also a loving aunt and friend to many.
Carolyn will be deeply missed and she will live in our hearts and memories forever. Heaven has truly gained an Angel.
Carolyn will be laid to rest by her Mother in the Zion Hill Cemetery in rural Centralia, Illinois.
