An 18-year-old Fairfield woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 50 at South Main Street in Clay City Friday afternoon.

State Police say Alexis Sargent of Fairfield was taken to an area hospital where she died from her injuries.

Preliminary investigative details indicate Sargent was northbound on South Main Street at US 50 in Clay City when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and was struck by an eastbound car on US 50 driven by 53-year-old William Goluba of Olney.

Goluba and a passenger in Sargent’s car, a 14-year-old male from Fairfield, were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred at 4:14 Friday afternoon.
