Marion County reports six new COVID-19 cases in past two days; new death reported in Wayne County

There were 28 additional deaths reported Wednesday from COVID-19 related causes, including a male in his 90s in Wayne County.   None of the other deaths were in Southern or South Central Illinois.

There were 2,765 new cases reported statewide.

The Marion County Health Department is reporting six new cases.  Three are considered community spread and three from household or close contacts.  None are long term care residents or students.    There are now nine active cases, including one in the hospital.  The department has released 30 from isolation during the reporting period.

Clinton County Health officials are reporting three new cases on Wednesday.  17 are currently on home isolation and two are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting four new cases and 13 who remain in isolation.

The Washington County Health Department has two new positive cases in the past two days with five cases that are currently active.

The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days remains at 3.8-percent.
