Karen Diss-Braden, age 78 of Salem, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 10, 2022.
Karen was born on September 27, 1943, in Glendale, California the daughter of Charles D. and Mary (See) Diss.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Johnson-Barden and husband James of Aliso Viejo, CA; six grandchildren, Kelsi Vazquez and husband Louie, Kory Johnson, Kolton Johnson and wife Marly, Kaden Johnson, Kierra Johnson, and Grace Boyles; two great-grandchildren, Neil Vazquez and Luke Vazquez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Mike Boyles.
Karen worked as a Human Resource Manager and Artist. Her passion as an artist led her to own her own art studio, and her artwork hangs in many homes and corporate buildings across the country. Karen graduated from Salem Community High School in 1961 and was active with the All Class Reunion. She was active in many organizations in Salem, helping to revitalize the Salem Theatre, and taught art classes at Idyllwood. She was of the Christian Faith.
She spent her adult life living in Kentucky and Arizona, moving back to Salem after retirement to care for her aging parents. Karen was a devoted and loving mother, always there for her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral Services for Karen Diss-Braden will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery in Salem.
