Jose Alexander Acevedo, 57, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Jose served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at the Union Labor Hall for many years. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
Per Jose’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public service will be held. He married Barbara Day and she survives in Springfield. In addition to his mother: Linda Salgado of Aurora and his wife: Barbara Acevedo of Springfield, he is also survived by three children: Adriane Acevedo of Colorado, Daisy Acevedo of Springfield, and Joseph Acevedo of Utah; three step children: Destry Morris of Texas, Lance Morris of Chicago, and Coleman Morris of California; fourteen grandchildren; three sisters: Laura Deleon, Sylvia Martinez and Hilda Acevedo all of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.
He was born August 3, 1964 in Brownsville, Texas, the son of Jose Acevedo and Linda (Vietti) Salgado. He was preceded in death by his father: Jose Acevedo and his grandparents.
