2022 04/09 – Charles C. Anspach

Charles C. Anspach, age 89 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, April, 7, 2022 at Odin Healthcare Center. Charles worked for many years in the building trades and was a member of the Carpenters Union. He served in the United States Army, enjoyed hunting, and being with family.

Private graveside services will be held at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com

He married Donna (Kester) Anspach in 1991 and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Yvonne White of Kinmundy, Melva Gillenwater-Venters and husband Jim of Salem, and Deborah Webb and fiancé Roger of Mattoon; three step-children, Mike Bryan, Ronnie Bryan, and Connie Bryan; eight grandchildren, Jon White, Jared, White, Jacob White, Jenny Bray, Kasey Swift, Heather Brown, Ilyssia Gillenwater, and Calvin Webb; three step-grandchildren, Madison Ramey, Connor Ramey, and Brandy Jennings; and nine great-grandchildren.

Charles was born on March 25, 1933 in Iuka, Illinois the son of John and Effie (Williamson) Anspach. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Brian White; and eight siblings, Shirley Anspach, Mildred Sinclair, Helen Hodge, Alma Courson, Otis Anspach, Joseph Lee Anspach, Glen Anspach, and Larry Anspach.
