Stan Clark, 82, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, peacefully entered into the Kingdom of Heaven this morning at 5:35 am April 5, 2022 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon with his family by his side. Stan proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodlawn and a 2nd Degree Mason. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend anyone could have asked for. His presence made the world a better place and his family’s lives were richer because of his all-encompassing, unconditional love.
They feel blessed beyond measure. A Visitation will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Woodlawn, Illinois. A Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Woodlawn, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Reverend Brian Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Stan married Lenore (Ilbery) Clark on December 2, 1964 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. In addition to his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Stan is survived by his daughters, Carrie Wheeler and husband, Todd of Woodlawn, Illinois, Kelly Fark and husband, Brian of Trenton, Illinois; grandchildren, Aaron Wheeler and wife, Kaita, Corey Wheeler and wife, Arika, Delaney Fark, Brennan Fark; great-grandchildren, Kalli Wheeler, Jacie Wheeler, Mason Wheeler, Lilyen Wheeler, Hazel Wheeler, and Atlas Wheeler; sisters, Alletta French of Bluford, Illinois, Judy Schneider and husband, Albert of Salem, Missouri; brother-in-law, Bud Howard of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born March 3, 1940 in Springerton, Illinois to the late Linzy and Zelma (Hutchinson) Clark. In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Clark and siblings, Harl Clark, Betty Cotner, Amylee Howard, Richard, Eddie, Gerald Clark, Wyva Bullard and Lin Rose.
