Donald “Glen” Halfacre, 87, of Iuka, Illinois passed away March 29, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Funeral arrangements will be 2:00 pm, Saturday in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, with ministers Larry Albert and George Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at the Palestine Cemetery, Iuka. Visiting hours will be from 12:00 o’clock noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Born June 5, 1934, in Iuka, “Glen” was the son of Jesse E. and Wanda L (Payne) Halfacre.
He married Freda Mae Phelps, on September 1, 1956, in Jefferson Co., Illinois and she survives along with their children Teresa Diane (Larry) Winegar, Whitwell, TN., Sharon Kay Lyday of Iuka, and Wanda Mae (Kenneth) Wuehler of Iuka, IL, daughter-in-law Glenda Halfacre of Chattanooga, TN, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Also left to mourn his passing are his siblings Jack (Linda) Halfacre of Iuka, IL, Bob (Gloria) Halfacre of Salem, IL, Dixie Slover of Salem, IL, Shirley Cook of Iuka, IL, and Linda Sue Rollinson of Salem, IL, sisters-in-law Ann Halfacre of Iuka, IL, Phyllis Davis of Salem, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Michael W. Halfacre, siblings Clinton Halfacre, Clarence Lee Halfacre, infant brother James Halfacre, Ruth and (Eldon) Burkett, Treva Nadine (Gene) Lauderdale, Mary Ann (Keith) Wyatt, brother-in-law Jim Cook and nephew, Eddie Hill.
