2022 03/25 – James ‘Jim’ A. Groff

James “Jim” A. Groff, age 54 of Centralia passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Jim was born September 13, 1967, in Centralia, the son of James and Betty (Steurer) Seisser.   He was adopted and raised by William “Bill” and Nancy Groff.

Survivors include his children, Andrew Barringer of Centralia, Heather Dickens of Mt. Carmel, Kailey Groff of Bluford, Clarissa Shelton and husband Brandon of Bluford, Nathaniel Groff of Bluford, and Daniel Groff of Centralia; a brother, Robert Groff and wife Jody of Vandalia, along with eight other siblings. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, adopted parents Bill and Nancy Groff, and five brothers and sisters.

Jim worked as a forklift operator at Nascote. He was a jack of all trades and loved riding his Harley. Jim was a very social person, he was very well known and never met anyone he viewed as a stranger.

Funeral services for James “Jim” A. Groff will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Pritchett Cemetery in Boulder. There will be a visitation on Friday the 25th at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
