Cheryl Ann (Bledsoe) Spicer, 61, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 4:45 pm March 9, 2022 at home with a family by her side. Cheryl was highly involved in her grandchildren’s lives. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Cheryl will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow at Brick Cemetery in Ashley, Illinois. Cheryl married David Spicer on July 3, 2005 in Mount Vernon. They were blessed with nearly seventeen years of marriage. In addition to her husband, Cheryl is survived by her stepmother, Janet Bledsoe; daughters, Stacy Helms of Oakboro, North Carolina, Melissa Yarbrough of Walnut Hill, Illinois, Crystal Karch of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Autumn Rector, Landon Helms, Mallory Helms, Zach Buchanan, Destiny Buchanan, Jacob Buchanan, Chris Sheehorn, Sara Sheehorn, Alton Sheehorn, and Zayden Morgan; great-grandchildren, Ora Mae, Cordillia, Milo, Blake, and Riley Rose; siblings, David Bledsoe, Chris Bledsoe, Michelle Barnes, and Tammy Brashear; and special friend, Mary Lawrence.
She was born November 1, 1960 in Joliet, Illinois to the late Claude Bledsoe and Una (Smith) Bledsoe-George. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her siblings, Ricky Bledsoe, Claude Allan Bledsoe, Tommy Leffner, and Diana Holden; and special friend, Yvette Marie Vaughn.
