2022 03/12 – Nina Martin

Nina Martin, 82, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home. Nina attended and graduated from Centralia Township High School and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Illinois. She also obtained her pilot’s license.
Nina received her real estate license and she was a homemaker. She was the original Co-Chair of the Healthcare Ball and a founder/charter member of the WLD. She was an avid golfer and tennis player. Nina liked playing bridge. She cherished the time and memories she had with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. A Private Family Burial will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Martin Family. She married Dr. Tom Martin on December 27, 1959 and he survives. In addition to her husband of 62 years, Dr. Tom Martin of Centralia, she is also survived by her two daughters: Christy Pierce and husband Sid of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Beth Stevenson and husband Rich of Auburndale, Florida; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nephews.

She was born June 17, 1939 in Centralia, the daughter of Roy Aut and Reba (Hibdon) Aut. Nina was preceded in death by her parents, son: Tommy Martin, daughter: Lisa Martin, and two brothers: Larry Aut and Richard Aut.
