Barbara Cline Shoemaker, 83, of Centralia passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Centralia Manor. Barbara gladly served and was an active member in her home church, Central City Baptist. She always had a friendly smile and was dedicated to her work in retail stores, including Dollar General. She was no stranger to travel, as her husband’s occupation had them moving various times in his career. Barbara was proud to care for her home and her family, baking them wonderful treats to enjoy. She had a creative side and loved to make crafts, and her love of purses will always be remembered. She liked to share stories of her travels all over the United States from Las Angeles to New York. Barbara was a caring Grandma and proud to brag on her grandchildren. Barbara was loyal, faithful, resilient, and kind and her memory will live on.
A celebration of life service will be held at a future date in Oklahoma. Memorials may be made in Barbara’s honor to CHS Cares and will be accepted for the family at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Survivors that will hold precious memories of Barbara close to their hearts include her children Joe (Debbie) Shoemaker of Centralia, and Julie Keelor of Rapid City, Michigan; sisters Pat Cline (Freid) Atyia of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Lahoma Driver of Seminole, Oklahoma; sister in heart Shelby Ville of Kentucky; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was born on June 22, 1938, the daughter of Joe and Juanita (Nichols) Cline in Seminole, Oklahoma. She married William Boyd Shoemaker on December 26, 1955, in Seminole, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Boyd Shoemaker; daughter Debbie Shoemaker Bingham; brother Troy Driver; sister Linda Jo Brady; son-in-law Doug Keelor.
