2022 03/08 – Tom Tabor

Tom Tabor, 65 of Salem, Illinois passed away March 1, 2022, at Salem Township Hospital.

Born June 5, 1956, in Salem, he was the son of Clarence and Phyllis M. (Webb) Tabor.

Tom was a mechanic for Salem Tire Center for 37 years. He had an interest in southern rock music and sports. He was an avid fan of the Fighting Illini and the Kansas City Chiefs. Most important to him was his family, and his greatest interest was spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.

He married Sandra K. Weatherford, on August 25, 1990, and she survives in Salem. Also, surviving is their son, David (Samantha) Carlson of Salem, and grandchildren Ava, Austin, and Axel Carlson. Also left to mourn his passing are his brothers, Tim Tabor of Odin and Mark Tabor of Salem, sister Diane Isenhour of North Carolina, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Bill Webb, Gary E. Tabor, and Jake Tabor, and sister, Margaret Gordon.

Simple cremation was selected.

The family invited you to gather with them from 5-7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home for a time of visiting and remembrance. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Andy DeWitt officiating. There will be no public burial.    Memorials may be made to the Donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N.
