Mark Mobley, 60 of Divernon passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2022 at his home. He graduated from Freeburg High School in 1979 and later graduated from Illinois State University in 1983. Mark married Dolores Ford on Sept. 17, 1988 in Springfield. Mark worked in IT for Franklin Life Insurance/American General/AIG for 29 years. He later worked for Ameren for 7 years retiring in March of 2021. Mark volunteered his time working on computers at Sugar Creek, Cornerstone Community Church and Midwest Distribution Center. He also volunteered for local youth baseball teams and was on the Divernon School Board. Mark was a long time blood donor and would appreciate if people would donate blood in his honor.
Visitation will be from 2pm till time of services at 4pm, Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Sugar Creek United Methodist Church, Chatham with Rev. Paul Dinges officiating. The family asked guests to wear their favorite baseball team’s apparel in honor of Mark. Graveside services will be at 1pm, Monday at Alma Cemetery, Alma, IL. Memorials may be made to Sugar Creek United Methodist Church or Melanoma Research Alliance. Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon is in charge of arrangements. Surviving are his wife, Dolores; three children, Kara (Jeff) Cox of Versailles, IL, Tyler Mobley of Phoenix, AZ, and Connor (fiancée, Katie Hammel) Mobley of Cape Girardeau, MO.; one grandson, Henry Cox; his parents, Ed and Marcia Mobley of Freeburg, IL.; two brothers, Bruce (Dana) Mobley of Murrieta, CA. and Doug (Dawn) Mobley of Oklahoma City, OK.; mother-in-law, Evelyn Ford of Alma, IL; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was born July 13, 1961 in Vandalia, IL; the son of Edward and Marcia Walker Mobley.
