Jeffrey Johnson, 64, of Mt. Vernon passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon. At the age of seven, Jeff moved to Warren G. Murray Center in 1964. This was his home until 1967 when he moved to the Rockford area until 2001. He then moved back to Centralia, calling Murray Center home once again. His last home was in Mt. Vernon where he had lived since 2013. Jeff liked to be comfortable while watching music videos and his favorite cartoons from the recliner or the couch. He appreciated time spent outdoors, soaking in the sunshine from the back porch, taking long walks, and enjoying days in the park. Jeff loved going to the snow cone stand to pick out his favorite flavor, and he liked cheering on the winning team at ball games. He was excited for the times when he would be taken out to eat, thankful for the good foods he could savor. Jeff was pleasant to be around and mindful of others and his environment.
A celebration of life service will be held at a future date. He was born on December 3, 1957, the son of Richard and Barbara (Clancy) Johnson in Belleville.
