Michael David Cash, 65, of Centralia passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at his home surrounded by people who cared and loved him. He was born on August 24, 1956, the son of Paul Sr. and Theresa (Montoya) Cash in Joliet.
Survivors that will remember Michael’s compassionate nature include the love of his life, his partner for 27 years Randy Easley of Centralia; siblings Paul Cash Jr. of Irving, Texas, Steve (Cindy) Cash of Glenridge, Jeff Cash of Wichita, Kansas, Grace Hardin of Centralia, and Sean Pope of Centralia; nieces and nephews Julie, Stephen, Bobby, Kristy, Stephanie, and Brandon; brothers-in-law William “Joe” Easley of Iuka, Stacey (Debbie) Easley of Iuka; sister-in-law Robin (Mindy) Easley of Central City.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Paul Sr. and Theresa Cash; nephews Christopher Cash, and Eric Cash; mother and father-in-law Morris and Loretta Smith.
Michael loved the sound of a good beat and listened to all types of music, installing surround sound in his home to enjoy. He enjoyed time spent outdoors and liked to keep active. He took his motorcycle out on all the best riding roads, appreciating the scenery and reveling in the freedom of the ride. Michael was no stranger to hanging out by the water, taking fun boat rides and mastering water skiing. He and Randy liked the challenge of a good day out catching fish and found it a great way to relax and spend time together. Michael was kind to all animals, giving them attention and love. He was an amazing cook for grateful friends and family. He was fascinated with growing plants and took a real liking to doing so. Michael could brighten any room with his warm presence, he had a gentle spirit and to know him was to love him.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Friends are welcome to a time to offer condolences to the family from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
