Gregory Eugene Hall (Greg) age 72, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2022 at 11:30 am at Good Samaritan Hospital Mt.Vernon Illinois surrounded by his loving wife, Anglea Hall and their children. Greg worked at a young age for S W Motors under his mentor Max Swartz for many years also working for IDOT(Illinois department of transportation) in maintenance for 24 years where he retired. Greg enjoyed going to the Street Machines, Car Shows and the Gate Way Races.When you think of Greg you think the guy with the Blue El Camino and motorcycle. Everyone he meet was a friend because he always had something to say to make you laugh. No one could detail a car like Greg if your tires weren’t shining your car wasn’t clean. A friend to all who cross his path.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Ron Johnson officiating. Greg married the love of his life on June 9th they shared 38 loving years together. Greg is survived by his wife, Anglea Hall of Mt.Vernon Illinois and his children, Lee(Candance) McClain of St.Louis, Andre McClain of Mt.Vernon, Garrett(Kim)Waston of Minnesota, Nasha Palmer of Detroit Michigan, Trena (Benjamin Barner)Tucker, Marq (Ashley)Tucker, Moneka (late Terrill)Campbell, and Domeka Melvin all of Mt.Vernon Illinois; brothers, Charles Lee Wright, Larry Wright, Gerald Wideman, Clifford Washington, and Jerry Hill; sisters, Jeanne Hawthrone,Geraldine Wideman, Jacqueline Wideman, Beverly Coleman, Jonanne Wideman and Irene Stokes; grandchildren, Shakya, Jasmine Waston, Laniece Gaddy, Andrea, Aleighdra Wendell, Chancellor, Aleise McClain, Kobe, Kine Lawson, Dorian Walker, Markiece Rush, Khirece Tucker, Kailynn Tucker-Harrison, Cameron, Kane Tucker, Monea Patton, Arieona Jones, Hysley Tucker, Benterya Barner, Kadin Jacoby; and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Greg was born to the union of LC and Carrie Hall on February 6,1950 in Mt.Vernon Illinois. Greg is preceded by his parents, LC and Carrie Hall; brothers, John Wesley and Jimmie Lee Baugus; and sisters, Patricia Webb, Katherine Merritt, Laura Lee Moore; and grandson, Marquez Tucker.
