Anthony “Tony” John Catalfamo, 73, of Belle Rive, Illinois, passed away at 4:30 am February 16, 2022 at his residence in Belle Rive, Illinois. Mr. Catalfamo proudly served his country in the United States Army. He served three tours in Vietnam and continued to make a career until retirement. Tony loved sports, he loved golf and he was an avid New York Yankees fan. He loved going to Yankees spring training games in Florida. Tony loved to travel and entertain people. Along with his wife, Diane, they operated a restaurant in Lebanon, Missouri for several years. He loved his family, but especially adored his grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Jeremy Hamson and Mr. Ron Daniels officiating. Tony is survived by his children Michelle Bury and child, Jay, Diane (Dan) Kavalhuna and children, Gia and Ivan, Tony Catalfamo, Casey (Jessica) Catalfamo and children, Madelynn and Zander; siblings, Joe Catalfamo, Robert Catalfamo, Rosanne Catalfamo, Diane Baldwin; mother-in-law, Vivian Scott; brothers-in-law, Ron Daniels and David Scott; several nieces and nephews; close friend, George Maahs.
He was born September 20, 1948 in Somerville, New Jersey to the late Anthony and Gladys (Scribner) Catalfamo. Tony married Kathy Diane (Scott) Catalfamo in May 1987. They were blessed with twenty-eight years of marriage before she preceded him on January 18, 2016. In addition to his parents and wife, Tony was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Dolores Daniels and father-in-law, Marvin Scott.
