Mario Daniel Hernandez, Sr, 77, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on February 16, 2022, at his residence. Daniel served in the Mexican military. He worked at Lovin’s Distributing and Battery Specialist for many years. Mario will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Daniel’s honor to the Hernandez Family, in the care of Irene Hernandez. Daniel married Irene (Lovin) Hernandez on July 17, 1977, at the United Methodist Children’s Home. In addition to his beloved wife, Daniel is survived by his daughter, Crystal Dawn Marlow and husband, Travis of Mount Vernon; son, Mario Daniel Hernandez, Jr. of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Devin Marlow, Nathaniel Marlow, and Jacob Marlow; brother, Saul Hernandez Alarcon and wife, Alejandra; sister, Judith Alarcon Hernandez; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was born July 21, 1944, in Taxco, Mexico to the late Ascension Hernandez and Rebecca (Alarcon) Hernandez.
