Benny H. Beard, 68, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:50 pm February 15, 2022 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon. Mr. Beard was a loving father and grandfather. Benny owned and operated Beard Services on 10th and Perkins. He enjoyed to hunt, fish, and watch and bet on horse racing.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 10:00 am at Bethel Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Interment will follow. Benny is survived by his sons, Jeremy Beard and wife, Lexis of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Darren Beard and wife, Amanda of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Arya Beard of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Jordan Beard and Evan Taylor of both of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and beloved Shih Tzu, Tipper.
He was born November 27, 1953 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Harold and Helen Louise (Whisenhunt) Beard. In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by his uncle, Darold Beard.
