Robert Edward Duncan (Bobby, Bobby D, Park, Head), 72 of Centralia, IL passed away peacefully Sunday evening, February 6, 2022, at 5:20pm surrounded by his family. Bobby grew up in Centralia attending the Centralia City Schools, graduating from Centralia High School and attending SIU/C. He was an avid all-around sportsman, but baseball was his love. He played little league baseball in Centralia where he was coached by his father for several years. He and his grandfather would spend many Sundays’ watching the games, talking and laughing together. Bobby could quote you stats for most teams as well as the names of players. He was the internet before we search engines. He loved numbers and had an amazing talent at being able to tell you your date of birth by taking part of your social security number. He was a sharp pool player and loved doing trick shots. He loved being around people and remembered so many details of people long gone. He would always ask about how people were doing and read the newspaper and sports magazines until his eyesight began to fail him. Bobby was of the Christian faith having been baptized at the family’s home church of Second Missionary Baptist church in Centralia and attended Sunday school and church as a young man as his parents were very active in the church activities. After returning from college Bobby was employed at the Railroad for a while and then went on to the construction trade being a part of the road crew. He worked there until he was later injured and disabled. Bobby was a lovable and kind person who had an outrageous sense of humor and would laugh at his own jokes.

A celebration of life service for the family will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia. Friends are welcome to a visitation time from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the Church. The Family is requesting that everyone in attendance wear a mask.
