Pastor Robert Lee (Bob) Morlan, age 77, of Apache Junction, Arizona, formerly of Salem passed away in Arizona on January 27th with his wife and son at his side.
Pastor Morlan was a 1962 graduate of Salem Community High School. Upon graduation, he joined the US Army and served honorably in the Signal Corps.
On Jan 10, 1966, he married Janice Marie Watson of New Lenox, IL. They were blessed with adopting two children Susan Marie and John William.
In his early 30’s Bob gave his life to Christ and soon after attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar Mo. where he received his Bachelors and Liberty University where he received his Masters.
He and Jann served faithfully at Grace Fellowship Church in Mokena for 25 years (a church that he had ultimately founded) as well as pastoring smaller churches in his early ministry.
In his retirement, Bob and Jann moved to Apache Junction where he served as pastor until his death. He was a good and faithful servant and will be dearly missed until we meet again
He is survived by his wife Jann, daughter Susan Marie Lowe and husband Steve, son Pastor John William Morlan and wife Julie, grandchildren Alicia Lowe, John Morlan Jr., Cameron Morlan, Eliana Morlan, and Caleb Morlan. Siblings are Carolyn Sledge, Brenda Stewart, Ed Morlan, and wife Lesa, all of Mt Vernon, Richard Morlan and wife Karen of Bourbonnais, Sheila Burgess and husband Stanley of Salem, Toni Crowder and husband Mario of Mt. Vernon, and Lydia Horton of Salem as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Earl Morlan, his mother Elsa Delehanty, two sisters Peggy Hayes and Judith Chrum and brother David Morlan, father-in-law Ray Watson and mother-in-law Irene Watson.
Visitation will be February 6th from 4:00- 7:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service on February 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Mokena, Il. He will be interred with military rights at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at 12:30
