2022 02/05 – Mario Sangregory

Mario Sangregory, age 77 of Salem, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Salem Township Hospital. Mario was a photo engraver and worked for World Color Press from 1983 until they closed. He then went to work for Technicolor in Pinckneyville until his retirement. He was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Salem. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Salem with Father Abraham Adejoh officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements. He is survived by two daughters, Roseann Brandt and husband Derrick of Sandoval and Michelle Sangregory and fiancé Rick Casteel of Parma, Ohio; five grandchildren, Eric and Kailey Brubaker and Zach, Austin and Macie Brandt; two brothers, John Sangregorio and wife Wolda of Parma, Ohio and Anthony Sangregorio of Strongsville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Philomena “Tootsie” Tumbry of Salem; and a nephew, Michael Sangregorio of Parma, Ohio.

Mario was born on October 1, 1944 in Spinete, Italy the son of Michael and Rosa (Disisto) Sangregorio. He married Mary (Tumbry) Sangregory on August 23, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio and she preceded him in death on June 23, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
