2022 02/04 – Wilma Hill

Wilma Hill, 89, of Odin passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Wilma was a lifelong resident of the town of Odin and was proud to call it home. She lovingly raised her family there surrounded by the support of community and was an amazing mother. Wilma was a member of Barr Christian Church and AARP. Wilma retired from Kass Potato Chip Factory in Centralia. She was not afraid of hard work and was an asset to Odin Care Center, serving in laundry and maintenance. Wilma always had great luck at playing Bingo and liked to hear that last Bingo number called out. She was an amazing cook, and no one left her home hungry. Wilma will be remembered for graciously opening her home to host gatherings of family and friends. She was the best Grandma to her grandchildren and instilled in them a strong work ethic and to be generous to others in need.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin with Pastor Jim McGrew officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Friends are welcome to a visitation time from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home in Odin. Memorials may be made in Wilma’s honor to the Family’s Wishes. Survivors that will remember Wilma’s positive attitude and love for her family include her son, Thomas Hill of Sandoval; daughters, Rhonda Hill of Carlyle, and Tina Griffith and husband Stanley of Odin; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Burton of Odin, and sister, Gladys Jarrett of Gainsville, Florida; daughter-in-law Janice Hill; and sister-in-law Gail Webster of Odin.

She was born on December 5, 1932, the daughter of Albert and Edith (Wimberly) Burton in Odin. She married Robert Hill and five children were born to this union. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edith Burton; her husband Robert Hill; brother, Kenneth Webster; sons Billy Hill, and Gary Hill; grandchildren Bobby Hill, and Jessica Alsept.
