2022 01/26 – Joyce Eileen Niepoetter Tyler

Joyce Eileen Niepoetter Tyler, 67 passed away peacefully in her sleep with family at her side at SSM Health St. Mary’s hospital in Centralia, IL on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Joyce always kept a positive outlook on life and she had an infectious smile and happy spirit that stayed with anyone she was around. She grew up in Centralia but spent most of her adult years in Port St. Lucie and Fernandina Beach, Florida but she loved reminiscing about old friends and her days at Franklin School and Centralia High School. Joyce worked many years doing computer records for hospitals. She married William Arthur “Billy” Tyler in 1997. Billy had a multi-year long project of building Joyce an open-top hot-rod car. Joyce loved to don her little top hat with her curly hair flying when she took it out for a ride on a sunny day.

A celebration of life service will be held privately by the family. Joyce was one of six children and is survived by the other five “J’s”, Jan (Lee) Elkins of Aurora, Colorado, Joan (Daniel) Gannon of Centralia, Jim Niepoetter of Centralia, Jeff (Kathy) Niepoetter of Centralia and Jay Niepoetter (Louise) of College Park Maryland. Also surviving are a step-daughter, Norah McMillan and two step-grandsons, Tyler James McMillan, and Griffin McMillan many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was born November 13, 1954, the daughter of Bill and Emma Seidel) Niepoetter. Her husband Billy passed away just 20 days prior to Joyce’s passing. Joyce was also preceded in death by her father in 2009, but her mother Emma survives.
