2022 01/20 – Judy Minton

Judy Minton, 82, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at her home. Judy worked at Woolworths for many years. She was a member of the Cornerstone Methodist Church in Centralia, where she volunteered with the Southtown Shalom Food Pantry and helped at the church. Judy loved helping people. She also enjoyed making crafts. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

Funeral Services for Judy Minton will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Phil Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Methodist Church and the Southtown Shalom Food Pantry and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Minton Family. She married Al “Monti” Minton on August 11, 1957 and he survives in Centralia. In addition to her husband of 64 years, Judy is also survived by her two sons: Terry Minton and wife Pamela of Ashley and Jeff Minton and wife Dana of Centralia; three grandchildren: Julie Burchett and husband Brandon, Stacie Minton and Brian Minton; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother: Brett Copple of Centralia; a sister: Amy Qualls and husband Richard of Centralia; a sister-in-law: Julie Copple of Centralia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was born November 26, 1939 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Hubert Copple and Thelma (Hart) Holt. Judy was preceded in death by her parents: Hubert Copple and Thelma Holt, step father: Charlie Holt, and her brother: Don Copple.
