2022 01/19 – Michael John Logue

Michael John Logue, 76, of Kinmundy, passed away at 11:38 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Salem Township Hospital in Salem, Illinois. Michael worked as an oil field driller for various companies for many years. He loved to spend time with his family. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Funeral services honoring the life of Michael will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Kinmundy Christian Church in Kinmundy with Josh Conley officiating. Per Michael’s wishes cremation rites will follow after service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church where friends may call from 3:00-5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kinmundy/Alma Fire Department or to the Kinmundy Christian Church. The McGriff and Triplett Funeral Home in Kinmundy is entrusted with the care and arrangements. He married Judy “Shaffer” on May 16, 1964, in Kinmundy, and they shared nearly 58 years of marriage. Michael is survived by his wife Judy, his 3 children: Anita (Phil) Willenborg of Panama City Beach, FL, Becky (Alan) Monical of Kinmundy, and Carolyn (Terry) Potter, of Kinmundy, 9 grandchildren: Jordan (Bria) Willenborg, Lynn Haven, FL, Jacob Willenborg, Panama City Beach, FL, Jenny Willenborg, Panama City Beach, FL, Kyle (Elisia) Monical, of Kinmundy, Katelynn (Zach) Tate, of Iuka, IL, Mike Schmieder, of Effingham, Zach Schmieder, of Kinmundy, Riley Potter, of Kinmundy, and Travis (Reanna) Potter, of Kinmundy. Michael is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and a sister: Sue Hall of Salem, and several nieces and nephews.

Michael was born on December 24, 1945, in Keyesport, Illinois, the son of Lester and Iris “Cole” Logue. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Virgil Logue and Lester Logue, and one granddaughter, Mallory Jo Monical.
