Nancy S. Elam Reubart, age 82, of Sandoval, Illinois, passed away at 9:36 A.M. on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at her niece’s home in Sandoval, Illinois, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on December 18, 1939, in Moweaqua, Illinois, the daughter of Lester Ward and Kathryn E. (Patrick) Elam. She married Jack Lee Reubart on January 8, 1977, in Taylorville, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2012.
Mrs. Reubart is survived by her loving family, sister, Donna L. Stafford of Taylorville, Illinois; grandson, T.J. Forrest and wife Rachel of Taylorville, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Michael Forrest of Taylorville, Illinois, and Katie Forrest of Taylorville, Illinois; many nephews and nieces, including her special niece, Tara Garrison and fiancé Josh Wiese of Sandoval, Illinois, who was her caregiver until her passing; and brothers, Tommy Elam of Taylorville, Illinois, Ronnie Elam of Decatur, Illinois, and Lester Ward Elam, Jr. of Decatur, Illinois.
In addition to her loving husband of 35 years, Mrs. Reubart was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Elam and Kathryn Elam, daughter, Cindy Louise Brockel Forrest; brothers, Lester Lee Elam, and Eugene M. Tyler; sister, Kathleen Vitali; and stepbrother, Charles L. Tyler.
Mrs. Reubart was of the Nazarene Faith. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose Lodge 671 in Fort Madison, Iowa. She loved to tend to her garden and grow beautiful flowers to be enjoyed by those around her. She looked after and cared for animals, especially dogs, including her late Furry Friend, Shelby. She enjoyed fishing out on the lake and waiting for that big catch. Mrs. Reubart cherished the time she spent with her family, traveling to them and surprising them with a visit from her. She was always on the road, and no one would know where she would end up.
Mrs. Reubart was a homemaker and a housewife. She was always trying to better herself, at the age of 50, she continued her education and received her CNA certificate at Burlington Community College in Burlington, Iowa. She lived in Sandoval, Illinois, for four years and formerly lived in Fort Madison, Iowa for 30 years.
Gathering of Family and Friends for Mrs. Nancy S. Reubart will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. There will be no services.
