Phillip “Tin Man” Young, 56, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021at his home.
He was born November 2, 1965, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Lee “Bud” St. Clair Young and Donna May (Hoffmeister) Young.
Phillip is survived by his eight children: Phillip Young, II and Amber Walton of Centralia, Travis Higgins and wife Betty of Greenville, Cory Young and Matthew McKenna of Carlyle, Tesla Gibson and husband Justin of Centralia, Kollin Young of Centralia, Brannon Young and fiancé Laynee Bebout of Pinckneyville, Jordan Young and fiancé McKenzie Crawford of Centralia, and Makenzie Young and Jordan Brand of Nashville; 25 grandchildren and one of the way; a special niece: Tiffany Jacobs of Midwest City, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews; mother’s of his children: Teresa Shafran and Angela Higgins both of Centralia; and several foster children and friends.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother: Christopher Young, and three sisters: Mary-Ann Billberry, Vickie Newcomb, and Linda Diane Young.
Phillip worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 36 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. Phillip cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, fur child: Roadie, and friends.
Per Phillip’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
