Lora Jean Houseworth, 81, of Bonnie, passed away on December 21, 2021 at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church and Ladies Bible Study. Jean worked as a sales clerk at Goodwill for several years. She loves auctions, shopping, and will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois with Reverend Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will follow. Jean married Ronald Houseworth on October 12, 1955 in Spring Garden, Illinois. In Addition to her loving husband of sixty-six years, Jean is survived by her daughters, Renee Isom and husband, Jan, Lisa Walden and husband, Brian; sons, Rick Houseworth and wife, Toni, Bradly Kent Houseworth; granddaughters, Brittany Bechtel and fiance, Cody Benjamin, April Morgan and husband Billy, Ashley Houseworth, Jennifer Houseworth, Tiffani Holder and husband, Seth, Summer Thackery; grandson, Kyle Walden and wife Alexis, Robert Thackery; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
She was born October 12, 1940 in Lola, Kentucky to the late Russell and Evelyn (Rector) Edwards. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her step father, Alvis Conner; step mother, Doris Edwards; step granddaughter, Autumn Thackery-Pittman; and step sister, Terry Moore Ryzewski.
