Janice Marie McCracken, 83, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 8:42 pm December 9, 2021, at Nature Trail Health Care in Mount Vernon.
She was born March 6, 1938, in Saint Louis, Missouri to the late Howard and Lillian (Nash) Jones. Jan married Jerry McCracken on August 11, 1956, in East Saint Louis, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly sixty-three years of marriage before he preceded her in death on June 30, 2019.
Jan is survived by her son, Daniel Lee McCracken of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughter, Pamela Marie Weems and fiancé, Kim Bonifacius of Woodlawn, Illinois; grandchildren, Cory Weems and Jessica, Melisa Weems, and Jessie McCracken; and great-grandchildren, Gage, Hailey, and Hunter.
Jan worked at Sears, Security Bank, Boatman’s Bank, and Bank of America Teller for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and active in the PTA with her children. Jan was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Reverend Jason Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
