Denise L. McMahon, 59, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away at 5:51 pm December 14, 2021 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Denise was a woman full of laughter and life who loved her family fiercely. She had a crippling fear of heights and couldn’t swim yet that didn’t stop her from climbing mountains and snorkeling in the ocean. She enjoyed spending her time crafting and hunting for antiques at road side stores and, most of all, doting on her grand babies. She was a beautiful writer and a walking dictionary. She was devoted, kind, generous, and a silly practical joker -she would do anything to help her family and was a joy to her friends. She had a strong faith in God which helped her walk through her life’s most difficult challenges. She volunteered often to help her church. She left this world too soon surrounded by her loving family. She will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 pm with Ron Davis officiating.
