Marilyn Kay Jenkins, 84, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away December 17, 2020 at her residence. Kay worked at JCPennys for many years and met many friends and acquaintances there. She was a life master in Bridge and traveled and played in tournaments all over. Kay was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and adored her. T

Kay is survived by her children, Jeff Scott Jenkins of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Teri McConnaughhay and husband, Kevin of Iuka, Illinois, and Robert Clay Jenkins and wife, Tasha of Orlando, Florida; grandsons, Myles Allali and fiancee, Shannon Carroll and Sam Allali, all of Mount Vernon, Illinois; one great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Maldonado; and siblings, Bob Drennan, Bill Drennan, Elizabeth Peavler, Ruth Willis, Milda Mathews, and Sue Ann Goodman.

She was born December 14, 1936 in Ina, Illinois to the late Felix Judson and Gladys Marie (Ligon) Drennan. Kay married Robert “Bob” Jenkins on September 17, 1955. They were blessed with nearly 62 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 20, 2017.
