2021 12/16 – Nancy Lee Ham

Nancy Lee Ham, 77, of Opdyke, Illinois, passed away at 1:51 pm December 13, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side. Nancy drove a school bus for Opdyke-Belle Rive Grade School for 35 years. She absolutely loved her job and all the kids. She also loved around Halloween when the kids would TP her house. She would let them get done with the job and then chase them all over! Nancy often helped her husband on the farm, as well. She made meals to take to the field. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be deeply missed.

Nancy married Richard Ham on December 22, 1963. They are blessed with nearly 58 years of marriage. In addition to her beloved husband, Nancy is survived by her children, Kelley Legg and husband, Dennis of Wayne City, Illinois, Rodney Ham and wife, Kayla of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Joel Ham and wife, Christi of Opdyke; grandchildren, Brock Ziegler and Casey of Herrin, Illinois, Kenna Ziegler of Las Vegas, Nevada, Logan Ham of Mount Vernon, Shayna Rightnowar and husband, Dylan of Mount Vernon, Bryli Ham and fiancé, Wyatt Mischke of Opdyke, and Cade Ham of Opdyke; great-grandchildren, Bristal and Ava Ziegler; and sister, Linda Trowbridge of Opdyke.

She was born December 5, 1944 in Richmond, California to the late Lawrence “Cookie” and Ila Mae(Whitlock) Hughes. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Rowell and Donna Schuchman.
