Salem Public Works crews have restored water service to the downtown area left without service by a major water line break early Friday morning. There is a boil order in effect for those left without water service.
The area includes Main from Walnut to Washington and Broadway from McMackin to Schwartz.
The leak was in a large line in the 100 block of West Main in front of Coaches Corner. Part of the street had to dug up to reach the break.
