Joy A. Collins, 74, of Pinckneyville, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Joy enjoyed gardening, yard work, and planting flowers. In her younger years, Joy enjoyed playing BINGO and dancing. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and family.
Per Joy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Joy is survived by her two children: Curtis Kish and wife Tammy of DuQuoin and Valerie Baker and husband David of Pinckneyville; four grandchildren: Emily Baker, Miranda Kish, Madison Jones and husband Luke, and Andrea Shively; two great-grandchildren: Daisy Jones and Finn Shively; three brothers: Paul Bardle and wife Hazel of Pinckneyville, Bruce Bardle and wife Grace of Pinckneyville, and Billy Bardle of DuQuoin; a sister: Paula Mathis and husband Sam of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
She was born February 4, 1947 in Pinckneyville, the daughter of Sylvester Bardle and Lucille (Gaston) Bardle. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson: Jacob Baker, three brothers: Hank Bardle, Robert Bardle, and Roger Gaston, a sister: Linda Henson, and a great-niece: Ashley Bardle.
