2021 12/04 – Barbara L. Carpenter

Barbara L. Carpenter, 85, of Salem, Illinois passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Fireside House of Centralia, IL. Barbara was a partner in, and worked alongside her husband as an Administrative Assistant for Kenco Corporation, their company formerly located in Salem. She was of the Methodist faith. Barbara loved antiques, antiquing and yard sales. She was very knowledgeable in antiques, and especially enjoyed collecting quilts, and Hummel figurines.

Barbara had chosen Simple Cremation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Alma Cemetery, Alma, IL. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 am until the service time at the funeral home. Survivors include her daughter Anna Marie Carpenter of Montana, siblings Richard Miller and wife Kim of Centralia, IL, J. C. Miller of Long Beach, CA, Wanda Twenhafel and husband Ralph of Centralia, IL, Sandra Johnson and husband Bill of Sandoval, IL and Betty Patterson and husband Joe of Lincoln, MO, along with several nieces and nephews.

Born September 22, 1936 in Marion County, Illinois, she was the daughter of Ray E. and Juanita L. (Meridith) Miller who preceded her in death. She married Kenneth C. Carpenter, October 20, 1956 in Mt. Vernon, IL and he preceded her in death, May 16, 2006. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Marvin Miller, Paul Miller, Joan Moore and Jennifer Gallagher.
