The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has released details on a Monday afternoon single-vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital for treatment.
Reports indicate a car driven by 21-year-old Hayden Wimberly of Kinmundy Road in Salem was westbound on the Green Street Road a half-mile west of Bell Club Road when he ran off the left side of the road into the ditch, traveled 100 yards through the ditch before coming back onto the road, crossing both lanes, and then entering the south side ditch. After hitting the ditch embankment the car rolled over on the passenger side.
Both Wimberly and a passenger, 20-year-old Paige Williams of North Lincoln in Centralia, were taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Wimberly was ticketed for driving under the influence of drugs and improper lane usage.
