Salem Township to have new supervisor after April election

Salem Township will have a new Supervisor after the April election.

Incumbent Richard Gregg was defeated in his bid for re-election by David Coryell.  Republicans attending the caucus vote 17 to 4 in favor of Coryell.

The Republicans also nominated Joe Telford for Road Commissioner, and Sharon Wood ward, and Jim Purcell for re-election to the township board.   There were no candidates nominated for assessor and two of the open trustee elections.

The Democratic Party nominated Barb Jackson Bailey as assessor and Connie Graham and James Bryant for two of the four open seats for trustee.

The Marion County Clerks office reports additional candidates can be added to the unfilled positions until December 21st.
