2021 11/27 – Robin R. McGee

Robin R. McGee, 61, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Robin graduated from the Centralia City Schools and Centralia High School. She worked for Burlington North Railroad and Wisconsin World Color Press. Music was big part of Robin’s life, she loved singing Gospel music and she was even in her own band that played R & B and Rock music. She wrote her own original poetry and songs. Robin also enjoyed cooking and barbequing, she would barbeque all year round even if it was snowing. She like to go shopping and dressing up. Robin confessed at an early age that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior and she was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Centralia.- Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral Services for Robin R. McGee will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Repass will follow at the Centralia American Legion Post 446, 117 South Poplar Street Centralia, Illinois 62801. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Robin is survived by her significant other: Richard Maxwell of Centralia; her children: Effie McGee of Centralia, Joseph McGee of Springfield, Freda McGee of Springfield; step children: Toby Maxwell, Haywood Riley, and Toiya Maxwell all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren: Tautiana Rogers and husband Jeff, Shatavia McGee, LaRay Billberry, Jr., ShayMaria McGee-Holmes, Amourye’ Johnson, Kevin Jr. Johnson, K’mer Johnson, KaSyian Johnson, Genela Winters, ZyLena McGee all of Centralia; six great-grandchildren: Zarionna McGee, J’Ron Waithe, Jayla Rogers, Honesty McGee, Charles Billberry, and Jaiden Rogers all of Centralia; 14 brothers and sisters: Paul McGee and wife Barbara of Wisconsin, Dianne Pester of Kansas City, Missouri, Freda Stewart Lasley of Centralia, Dennis McGee of Centralia, Anthonnette Strowder-Evans and husband Edward of Centralia, Clarice McGee of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Anthony McGee and wife Ann of Centralia, Charles McGee and wife Bonnie of Centralia, Janet McGee of Mt. Vernon, Joan Webster of Paducah, Kentucky, Joyce King of Centralia, Stephon Wilson of Chicago, Illinois, Ella Mae McGee of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Linda Webster of Centralia and Diane Grooms of Indianapolis; two aunts: Maybell Pulley of Centralia and Felicia McGee of Mt. She was born May 30, 1960 in Centralia, the daughter of Joseph Vaughn and Lena Bell McGee. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Vaughn, Lena Bell McGee, Andrew Falls and Effie Falls; grandparents: Booker and Emma McGee and Maylee and Arlene Vaughn, four children: Leroy McGee, Andrew McGee, Marleda Maxwell, and Nakia McGee, grandson: Lennox Billberry, three brothers: James Mosley McGee, Roy McGee, and William Earl McGee, two sisters: JoAnn McGee and Helen McGee, and special niece: Shayla Martice Stewart.
